Marcela Cañal was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, during difficult times, under a dictatorial regime.

From a young age she was very competitive, always wanted to win, because of this competitive spirit she wanted to do more and more. It was her dream to be an athlete and one day become a coach. And it was her grandfather that taught her patience and how to control her emotions. Since her family could not afford to pay for all the activities she wanted to participate in when she was 12, she started tutoring to make extra money.

By the time she went to college she knew she could not pursue her dream of sports, so she majored in accounting. After graduation, she went to work for a top 5 accounting firm, but soon thereafter Argentina was hit with an economic crisis and she was laid off. Having difficulty finding a job in financial services she started her 2nd career as a Holistic Counselor. It was there that Marcela learned how to feed the needs she had inside, that jobs, money, friends or family could not address. It was then she learned to be helped and to help others.

Then at the age of 28, Argentina faced a complete financial collapse. This time she said, “If not now, then when?” And with $1,000 dollars, and a bag full of clothes, she came to the United States.

Today Marcela is the CEO and founder Of HAZ Taxes & Accounting. Her company provides small business owners more than just accounting and tax services, her clients see her as a trusted advisor. She takes the time to get to know her clients, to understand them, so she can better assist them in reaching their financial goals.

Marcela is an active member of the Hispanic Community. She believes life has taught her, there are no limits to what a person can do and live like there is no tomorrow.
